What is your favorite cover song?
Question submitted by RayThis is a fabulous qotd. I'm going to have to go with Tame as covered by Local H. As much as I love the Pixies, Local H truly did it better.
What was your favorite candy when you were a kid? How does that compare to now?
I think I chose a different kind of candy every week on our weekly grocery shopping trips. Nerds were a favorite, and my sister was really into Skittles. And Gobstoppers, those were a popular choice. At one point I went through a big taffy phase. I used to flatten it and then shape it into roses. I never really liked chocolate and I still don't. Currently my favorite candy would be a white chocolate crunch bar. I would definitely choose soda over candy though. I'm a big soda drinker, and notsomuch a candy eater.
This is such a fun question! In western WA most people refer to caffeineated beverages as pop, but I've always felt the need to refer to it as soda. I've been asked where I'm from for calling it that. Pop just seems like such a strange word to use for a drink.
What's one thing that you hope to do or accomplish before the end of this year?
I would really really like to extract DNA from and run a PCR on both paddlefish and sturgeon. Yes, that would be super. I've had quite a bit of trouble with this simple concept since the beginning of this year. So actually getting it done would be wonderful.
I have to cheat on who my favorite muppet is, because I have two. The grumpy old men. I always hated Miss Piggy because I felt she was a sexist portrayel of women. I always hated Kermit because he never stood up to Miss Piggy. And the rest just never stood out to me. Plus old men that complain about everything are awesome.
Sterling. He was my first "boyfriend." In first grade that really just means you talk to each other more often than the other members of the opposite sex. He "got away" by inviting me to his birthday party. I was the only girl there, and while the boys were off doing boy things I talked to his mom in the kitchen. That was the end for him. I saw him last summer when I came back to Woodinville. He was working at Taco Time. I'm not sure if he knew who I was.
I know this is late, but I have some catching up to do.
My legal name is now officially Nicole Joan Dickison, although for the first 17 years of my life, due to some miscommunication, my birth certificate said Joan Dickison. In high school my closest friends referred to me as Sherbet, my preferred nickname, and my friends in college call me Nic. I chose the name Sherbet to spread the knowledge about how to properly spell it. As I was growing up my immediate family always called me Kenny, and for the most part still do. So I suppose you can choose from these or make up your own name for me.
Some relevant facts about me include that I am 20, a senior in college, and attending Pacific University. I am majoring in bioinformatics, minoring in German, and I might also minor in computer science. I have danced in the largest lu'au held in the continental U.S. I love knitting, my cat, and world of warcraft. I don't love drivers who pass me but don't pass the person in front of me. The rest is boring and I'm sure you'll hear about it soon enough.
